Driver Eligibility Requirements
Alinsco Insurance provides auto insurance coverage for drivers with a variety of identification types and enforces specific eligibility guidelines. Below is a comprehensive guide to Alinsco’s driver requirements, covering accepted IDs, age restrictions, and household driver exclusions.
1. Accepted Forms of Driver Identification
To qualify for an Alinsco policy, drivers must present one of the following forms of valid identification:
Valid U.S. Driver’s License
Foreign Driver’s License
Matricula Consular
Foreign Passport
Permanent Resident Card
Voter Card or EFIN
Visa
Each form of ID must include a photo and be submitted with the application. Alinsco allows flexibility with these forms of identification, including foreign and non-traditional forms, but each must be current and verifiable.
2. Age Requirements for Coverage
Alinsco has a strict age requirement: it will not insure drivers under the age of 16. All drivers listed on the policy must meet this minimum age requirement to be eligible for coverage.
3. Excluded Drivers Policy
Alinsco requires that every household member over the age of 13 be either listed on the policy as a driver or explicitly excluded. This policy ensures clarity on who is covered and helps prevent potential claims conflicts.
During the binding process, agents can list any drivers who need to be excluded on the policy. For any household or family member over 13 who will not be included as a driver but resides in the household, Alinsco mandates the completion of a Named Driver Exclusion Form.
If additional household members are identified after the policy is bound, agents can have the insured complete a 515A exclusion form to update the policy with any newly excluded drivers.
To download the 515A exclusion form:
Log in to Alinsco’s agent portal at https://agents.empowerins.com/LogOn.aspx.
Once logged in, click on Agent in the top menu.
Navigate to Forms to locate and download the 515A exclusion form.
This exclusion process helps ensure that only approved drivers are covered while clearly documenting excluded drivers on the policy.
4. Licensing and Additional Requirements
Alinsco accepts a range of ID types and does insure drivers without a valid ID. However, those with a suspended, revoked, or expired license cannot be insured unless they are applying for an SR-22.
5. Medical Certificates for Older Drivers
Alinsco does not require a medical certificate for older drivers. Eligibility is based on the licensing and ID requirements outlined above, with no additional medical assessments related to age.
By following these guidelines, drivers and their families can determine whether they meet Alinsco’s requirements. For further details on eligibility or assistance with your application, contact your marketing representative.
Note: Alinsco reserves the right to accept, reject, request modification and make final underwriting decisions on all applications.
Can we remove an excluded driver from the exclusion list?
No, drivers cannot be removed from the exclusion list unless they are added to the policy as covered drivers.
